Certifications

For most of its products, Blustyle has obtained certification for the content of pre-consumer recycled material. This eco-sustainability feature contributes to obtaining credits according to several international building standards.

The CE mark is a safety certification required by the European Union with the intention of safeguarding health and safety.

For all articles in the Blustyle range, the carbon footprint calculation over the entire life cycle (CFP), expressed as CO2 equivalent per unit of product, is available. With the help of the Carbon Footprint Systematic Approach tool, certified according to ISO 14067, the company can assess, track and plan the product’s climate footprint, focusing on reducing it to meet sustainability targets and boost environmental performance.

The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a document that communicates transparent information about the environmental characteristics of Blustyle porcelain tiles through its Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). Blustyle products have a type III specific EPD. This is certified by an independent third party according to ISO 14025 and EN 15804 standards (applicable PCR). EPD certified products are required by the main construction certifying bodies such as LEED (international), BREEAM (England), HQE (France), and DGNB (Germany), as well as the legislative frameworks in Italy (requisites for sustainable public contracts). It is a voluntary certification that gives additional value to Blustyle products because they are manufactured according to the highest standards of sustainability and responsibility.

GREENGUARD certifies products that guarantee the highest standards of air quality in indoor environments. All porcelain stoneware and Kerlite Cotto d'Este collections have obtained GREENGUARD GOLD certification, i.e. the UL standard with the strictest VOC emission limits, and are therefore able to ensure that they are as healthy as possible for the people who use and inhabit these environments. They can therefore be used in environments such as schools and health facilities, attended by sensitive individuals such as children and the elderly. GREENGUARD GOLD is a widely recognised certification required by sustainable building programmes and design and construction regulations around the world, such as LEED (international) and BREEAM (UK).

UL – Blustyle products

Panariagroup has adopted the HPD (Health Product Declaration) open standard, recognized by USGBC LEED and created to promote attention towards people and consumers by reporting product features and information regarding health risks for all those involved in the project.

The Blustyle products comply with the international standard ISO 17889-1 “Sustainability issues for ceramic tiling systems”, that establishes the sustainability criteria for ceramic surfaces with the goal of providing design professionals, contractors and consumers a standard that is verifiable and valid at the international level for qualifying the product according to economic, environmental and social sustainability.

The KEY-MARK and the Certiquality-UNI marks confirm that the certified products are compliant with the EU laws regarding ceramic tiles.

Blustyle is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council and of the Green Building Council ITALIA. These organizations promote the construction of buildings and other works which respect the environment as well as the health and well-being of the people who live and work within them.

UPEC is a product certification issued by the French institute CSTB which verifies the technical suitability of the products in relation to their intended use.

The EU EMAS Eco-Management and Audit Scheme for organisations requires the creation of a complete Environmental Management System based on constant improvement. The system aims to create cooperation and build trust between the company and the employees, local authorities and public. The Environmental Declaration is the final document of this process.

In accordance with the ISO 14001 certification, all the environmental aspects concerned in the production of the tiles are constantly monitored, guaranteeing the use of the best technologies on the market in order to reduce the environmental impact. The environmental system of the Panariagroup production sites is audited yearly by an external agency through inspections.

In accordance with the ISO 9001 certification, every step in the production process, from the arrival of the raw material to the packaging of the finished product, is verified by experienced personnel through accurate quality control.
